The tournaments were a joke if you weren't lucky enough to live in Japan/Korea or in specific areas in the States with an already strong Tekken scene. It was next to nigh impossible to get people invested into the game because it was so unnecessarily hard and bloated to learn and be somewhat decent. Within the community it caused a lot of good players to stop playing. I can appreciate what it had going for but it was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ time. If you're so hellbent on playing TTT2 online, by all means get a PS3 and play to your hearts content.
Apart from that Nightmare85 already gave you plenty of options through emulation leaving out the Cemu emulator which can play the Wii U version of TTT2 in a very playable/functional state. Why should Namco even do that? To split player base among their older games and make less revenue on the newer ones, because the casual pleb usually thinks that every Tekken is the same anyway. It's highly unlikely that there will be any rerelease of any Tekken game whatsoever. This can hardly be seen as a serious discussion when all you do is "redact" opinions of others partaking in your discussion.
